Roles you could help fill

Retail Floor Assistants

Retail Assistants help create a welcoming, peaceful environment for everyone who walks through our doors. This role could include greeting shoppers, offering support, tidying the floor, cashiering, and being present to meet the needs of our customers.

Backroom Assistants

Backroom Assistants help receive, sort, and clean donations to get them ready for the floor. You’ll greet donors at the back door, organize inventory, and keep the backroom clean and functional, including light cleaning tasks like vacuuming and taking out trash when needed.

Our greatest need

We’ll take any help we can get, but we’d be especially grateful if you're available during afternoons or weekends, when we tend to be short on coverage. If that’s you, thank you for considering filling one of those open spots first.

Volunteering FAQs

  • Volunteers are from the local community. If you would like to volunteer at Lakeville or Stillwater sign up online or email us at restored@restoredmn.com for more information.

  • The store has many different roles for volunteers. Generally, new people begin in the backroom and move to different areas from there, including sales floor clerks, stocking, security and the cash register.

  • Volunteers receive specific training for each role and ongoing support when they serve. Volunteers enjoy a sense of community and purpose as they serve together.

  • We generally ask that volunteers serve a four hour shift on a regular basis (either weekly or twice a month). However, we will try to work with your schedule as much as possible. For example, some volunteers leave MN in the winter and we simply ask for time to plan around that.

  • There are many benefits to volunteering: 1) the local community receives help because of your service, 2) store customers receive the best goods at the lowest price, 3) volunteering provides significant help to those who rely on thrift goods to manage a tight budget, and 4) you will be part of a recycling and conservation effort by keeping used goods out of overflowing landfills.

What Customers are Saying

ReStored is a Thrift Shop like no other! It’s a virtual treasure hunt in a boutique-like environment. Clean, classy and the deals can’t be beat. All proceeds go back into the community. If you like to volunteer, this is the place. The store is almost completely volunteer-run. If you have 4 hours a week to serve, sign up and try it. You won’t be disappointed!
